Cross Border
Crossing a border by road or rail, your product still needs to be cleared through customs. Procedures between Mexico and Canada are vastly different, so it’s important that the transportation team you work with be familiar with that country’s clearance procedures as well as be prepared to deal with any bumps in the road. To ensure a seamless cross-border shipment, here’s what we need:
Required Documents for Canada:
  1. Bill of Lading
  2. Manifest or Cargo Control Document
  3. Canada Customs Invoice or Commercial Invoice
  4. Packing List
  5. Import Permits (if goods fall under Canadian OGD categories)
  6. Shipper's Export Declaration (for controlled exports)
Required Documents for Mexico:
  1. Bill of Lading
  2. Commercial Invoice
  3. NAFTA Certificate or Origin
    (for NAFTA eligible goods)
  4. Packing List
  5. Customs Declaration
  6. Shipper's Export Declaration (for controlled exports)
